1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of the ChristLORD Jehovah Isa 13:6; Zep 1:14; Jol 2:31 2Pe 3:8-12; 1Th 5:2; 1Th 4:15; ) is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

2Th 2:2 -The treasure of Greek MSS representing the New Testament are generally, thought by thought, identical. There are a few exceptions and 2Th 2:2 is such an example. The majority and the most authenticated Greek MSS contain Kyrios or Lord in this verse. The majority of modern English translations and the DNKJB trust these ancient manuscripts over the ones used by the translators of The Authorized King James Version of the Bible. Those translators relied on Greek texts that say Χριστου or Khristos and thus in the AKJV this verse is rendered as "the day of the Christ." That portion of those ancient documents is now regarded by almost all scholars as an improper change in the original message and the writings. That this is not a trivial concern is further strengthened since preferring khristos over kyrios contradicts Old Testament authority.
The DNKJB relying on the most accurate evidence and in defense of the Divine Name and its power to illuminate the meaning of the scriptures restores the verse to reveal that it is not the Lord Jesus Christ that it is a ‘day of’ but most truthfully it is the day of the One that anointed or ‘khriston’ Jesus to act as the champion of pure worship on that day. Verse 4 agrees making plain that the offensive thing to Jesus is the opposing of God and the exalting of oneself "above all that is called God, or that is worshipped". As the AKJV and most modern English translators insist upon removing the name of Jesus’ Father from their translations it cannot be denied that this makes it impossible to grasp the true magnitude of the divine nature of Jesus, the key person in the fulfillment of all of God’s promises, whose very name given him by Jehovah means “Jehovah Is Our Saving Cry” or "Jehovah Is Salvation."
Paul does not follow in this pattern and frequently exalts the role of Jesus by not only confirming his authority as Lord but as the Lord Jesus Christ showing that the lordship was conferred upon Jesus by Jehovah in an act of ‘khriston’ or anointing. This exalts God's Almightiness and His Sovereignty, two related things which are absolutely established almost 300 times in the OT and NT. This magnificently harmonizes with Jehovah's law that there be no other God before Him and Jesus wisely and solidly upholds God's law by instructing man "to worship God." (Rev 19:10) This makes the submission by mankind to Jesus not just the fulfillment of the promise of salvation but the even grander blessing of being made one with God as Jesus is. (1Co 15:27,28) To say that something else is true would mean that Jesus is to be judged guilty of the very thing Satan the Devil remains guilty of when he lied and made himself the god of this wicked world, the father of the son of perdition and the antichrist.
The day of Jehovah is a day like no other and will make God's name forever hallowed by every creature, making it impossible for anyone to ever obscure who the Almighy God is or to hide His name so that someone may once again enslave mankind. The glorious light of the Christ is that by his submission to the Almighty, Jesus place is made eternal. And as a result “every knee should bow” and “every tongue should confess him as Lord and Savior” and this is Jehovah’s ardent will. (Isa 9:7) The Apostle Paul at Phi 2:9-11 harmoniously affirms that this is the very thing that will be “to the glory of God the Father." This is the mind of Christ that Phi 2:5 speaks of which brings full faith and life eternal for mankind. (John 3:16,36)
As if any further force is needed we value highly knowing that the Greek Septuagint, which is the translation of the OT from the Hebrew language into the Greek language, uses the Greek term khrystos or christ 40 times and applies it to priests, kings and prophets of pre-Christian times. Yet never is the word khrystos or its associated meaning anointing used in connection with Jehovah in the OT or in the NT. We are forced to translate as we have since Jehovah anoints Jesus to be Lord but never does anyone anoint Jehovah as LORD. It is fundemental to understanding how to translate the Bible to acknowledge the evidence of the OT that Jehovah is and always should be the way we uniquely and thus worshipfully refer to the One we shall in a continuous way discover is Almighty.
A translation has integrity and can be said to be accurately translated in harmony with the spirit of God's word anytime Jesus is rendered as the Lord Jesus Christ and also when kyrios under OT authority is rendered as LORD as long as LORD or anything like it is not being used to substitute for the Tetragrammaton clearly seen in the ancient text. But never could that be true if any rendition of the scriptures should imply that Jehovah can be correctly called the Lord Jehovah Christ. With this clear distinction of God’s superior position of sovereignty established by the OT then we can always understand when kyrios must be understood to be LORD even if Jehovah’s name is not found in the text.
