1611 Authorized King James Version of the Bible

Zeal to promote the common good, whether it be by devising anything ourselves, or revising that which hath been laboured by others, deserveth certainly much respect and esteem, but yet findeth but cold entertainment in the world. It is welcomed with suspicion instead of love, and with emulation instead of thanks: and if there be any hole left for cavil to enter, (and cavil, if it do not find a hole, will make one) it is sure to be misconstrued, and in danger to be condemned. cavil: To find fault unnecessarily; raise trivial objections. (The American Heritage Dictionary @2000)

Thus reads the original Preface to an esteemed translation of the Holy Scriptures, known to hundreds of millions over the last 400 years, as the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Scriptures. Those translators knew that to translate the Holy Scriptures into English would likely subject them to apathy and harsh criticism. Now as we look into the past 400 years we can see that this English translation proved capable of shining a bright light directing people to seek their Creator. Although not the first rendering of the Word of God into the English language it has been so very long referred to as THE HOLY BIBLE that it has become regarded as one of the most trustworthy and influential translations of all times. It is widely recognized for standardizing the way English is written and how our words are pronounced. Prior to the printing press, bookmaking was so very extraordinarily expensive no common man had a book of any kind, let alone a Bible. With mass production of the Authorized King James version of the Bible still few people could afford to buy one and the printers nearly went into bankruptcy and to debtors' prison. The common man did consider the Bible in English such an important treasure that they bought it one page at a time. Considered by many to be the "providentially appointed Word of God" for the English speaking people of the world, it is loved and adored, and it still used throughout the world. Because the Authorized King James Bible was used by so many to educate their children with spiritual values the words are buried deeply in English culture and deservedly or not it acts as a standard of trustworthiness by which other translations are judged.
As translators seek to show the merit of their more educated translations by comparing their modern texts with the Authorized King James Version it has made this once proud translation seem old and almost useless. It is for this very reason that we have brought to you a new literary work to showcase the most important message found within the pages of the Bible. As Bible translators have all had the opportunity to define what they consider the 'gold standard' for excellence in Bible translation, the ordinary man may use this Divine Name King James Bible to distinguish the true merit of between any and all other translations in existence today. A bold statement for sure, but may we now introduce to you the new 'Old Man' from among all these translations who now can point out to us the most important of all truths that has been hidden in plain sight.
The Purpose of The Divine Name King James Bible
The Bible is a collection of writings of all sorts which are attributed to over 40 different writers, with verified dates of writing from 1500 years before Christ to about 100 years after Christ. In the Bible we find books not only of moral instruction, but proclamations, prophecies, public and personal letters, songs, poems, invaluable genealogies, biographies and detailed histories. The Bible endears itself to its readers as it portrays authentically all of its content as non-fiction, filling every page with facts of history, science, sociology and philosophy. It does not depend upon the charisma or moral superiority of its writers as remarkably it fully exposes their weakness, misdeeds and humiliating foibles and neither does it show fear and gloss over the hypocritical wrongdoings of the rulerships that lorded over them.
These writings tell of matters and events dating as far back to the time we all know as "In the beginning" and but quickly in the very first book our interest is focused on matters and events awaiting a promised fulfillment.
As to prophecy there is no contest between it and all other works that prophesy. It has been estimated that as much as 98% of the prophecies of the Bible have been factually verified as having occurred. The Bible though has proven itself superior not from being an accurate book of facts or even prophecy but more significantly it provides explanations about the very Cause of everything that humans contemplate as reality. As to the intentions of this Great Power, it does not leave us confused and wondering. When we separate away from these scriptures the religious interpretations that have been forced upon people it becomes absolutely clear that it is religious dogma that is confusing and contradictory and not the Bible.
In spite of the fact that both secular and religious leaders have misused the scriptures for their own ends the Bible does not mislead those who make its truths their own. Without proper consideration of all the available facts many proclaim that it is impossible to know if the Bible is one book. There are those mired down in analysing and debating the minutest aspect of the historical records to produce the 'most accurate' rendering of the ancient texts. The enduring reality about the Bible is that it is fully comprehensible. There are so many illustrative passages and examples preserved for us, that it is practically impossible to misunderstand the meaning of passages, once and if people free themselves from the effect of pre-conceived ideas. One cannot help but wonder how so many humans across so much time could write so many different stories and it could be called credible to even think that it could have one unified theme or as the Bible itself claims, it could be the work of one Author. Whether or not we believe that God did inspire the Bible still is it not naive to think that this collection of writings have come down to us as an uncorrupted written message? We live in a time when practically everyone has internet access to all but limitless facts on this very topic. What do the facts tell us now?
In the last one hundred years Bible translators have had access to well over 13,000 handwritten manuscripts and fragments of manuscripts, all of which are known to be copies, many are in ancient Hebrew and Greek, and many other languages. From the writings themselves and from archeological evidence we can date the copies descending from those originals back to hundreds of years before Christ and there are also copies dating approximately a thousand years after Christ. The oldest copies are a thousand years older or more than the next youngest copies. These documents were produced by professional and trained men known as scribes which means their daily occupation and responsibility was the production of manuscript copies without any errors. An examination of the techniques and rigors employed by those with the professional duties of a scribe reveal that copies were made under the most stringent disciplines, counting every letter and every word and even destroying days or months of work upon the discovery of an error or modification. Could any human endeavor relying on the process of handwritten copying preserve a message through millennia so that the delivered message is actually equal to the original?
If indeed the thoughts in the Bible were from God and if we are seeking a useful belief in the Bible this would be dependent upon determining if the original writers and all the scribes proved themselves unbiased and faithful to preserve God's thoughts. And if they faithfully rendered the word of God, did powerful and seemingly invincible adversarial forces that we know existed before, during and even after the works were produced, then modify the pure Word of God?
Yes, the facts and our experience teach us that the well meaning intentions of humans to carry the truth forward are not enough to provide for us a credible basis for full faith that what we might receive from them is the whole truth. Using the scientific method for separating fact from fiction there has been conducted an exhaustive cross-referencing of the 13,000 texts. Bear in mind that the oldest manuscript copies are a thousand years older than any other copy which gives us a tremendous standard to determine how resistant to change these manuscripts have been. The results lead firmly to the conclusion that the Hebrew and Greek texts that have been compiled together into one document, a document anyone can readily examine online or by a visit to public libraries to read, is a document which shows that the collections of 66 books into a singular work, are as authentic as those originally written.
While the scientific research may lead us to conclude that the current day Bible is authentic enough to be credible as a resource for developing human thinking still to rid ourselves of any doubt as to why there are ancient texts that vary from one another it is essential to keep always in mind that not only the Bible writers were persecuted for speaking out against the secular and religious segments of society but also the scribes that followed after them were likewise persecuted and killed. The historical record proves that false leaders burned thousands upon thousands of authentic copies and burned at the stake the very people that tried to preserve and protect those authentic copies.
To know if the Bible has come down to us as a message from God has to go beyond the testimony of others. To have a kind of knowing that would be suitable for full faith would mean that we should be able to take our most perplexing and frustrating ideas and thoughts and then using what we understand from the Bible successfully rid ourselves of any and all confusion without relying on someone else to assure us of our conclusions. And we must add that we would likewise find that when we did compare our basis for faith with others who we see evidently love the truth they would confirm in definitive terms that they too recognize the Bible as an authentic message from God by the same basis as we ourselves.
Heretofore naysayers and those weak in faith have called upon 'common sense' to proclaim the 'impossibility' of our having in our possession what God actually inspired for man to know. As to whether or not the words are truly inspiration from an all wise and all knowing and loving God, we say again, is determined by us only if we can make successful use of the Bible to destroy ideas that have confused and frustrated us and thus to build up ourselves and our loved ones. To us, like the psalmist, we find the Bible to be "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105) because we do experience relief from questions that plague us and we find that it does the same even for others so very different from ourselves but who are likewise lovers of the truth. We do not feel hopeless as we realize that while humans clearly do not seem capable to give us answers that work we do see that this Book, The Bible, does bear the mark of superhuman wisdom.
This personal experience along with knowing the facts that we do have a reliable copy of the original only serves to reassure us that it is not an act of arrogance when peaceably we bring the message of the Bible to our families, friends and fellow humankind everywhere. But like those before us who stood up for the truth but were opposed there remains a significant force opposing the truth of the Bible today and, as has always been the case, it comes from the very ones who have established themselves to be the most influential in translating it and distributing it.
Does it not seem clearer than ever why Jesus instructed us at Matthew 6:9 to pray "Hallowed be thy name" not "hidden be thy name!" Jesus faithfully showed why the name of Jehovah must be known to us for only by that way would we know who Jesus is, for his name in Hebrew is Yeshuah, Jehovah is Salvation, and how in obedience Jesus set the pattern for pure worship. This is directly tied to our having eternal life, for Jesus himself said in prayer to Jehovah, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.John 17:3
